- Completing Formal training to become fully qualified for licensed facility (Tritium Facility) operation.
- Completing daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities related to routine laboratory operations such as equipment calibration, housekeeping, and waste disposal coordination.
- Performing maintenance work as required - this may involve working in fresh air respirators.
- Assisting in developing work plans and procedures.
- Carrying out all responsibilitie safely and accurately by strictly following protocols and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.
- Education
- Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology in a field relevant to the position, and normally has six (6) to eight (8) years of pertinent technological experience OR Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent and normally has ten to twelve (10-12) years of pertinent and progressive experience or the equivalent in experience, additional education and/or training.
- Experience
- At least 10 years’ experience in Nuclear Facilities and/or laboratories.
- Experience in chemical laboratory practices and safety procedures.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repairing equipment/instrumentation is an asset.
- Experience following a Radioisotope Lab Protocol is an asset.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic computer skills with word processing and spreadsheet knowledge.
- Knowledgeable in Quality Assurance requirements in lab activities.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, such as measurement devices or Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), is an asset.
- Security Clearance Eligibility Required
- Level 2 Secret requires a minimum of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
- This position is part of the USW 1568 and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the their Collective Agreement. - Handling toxic and hazardous chemicals and radioactive materials.
- Most of the work will be performed during regular day-shift hours; however, occasional work during off-shift hours (including weekends) may be necessary to meet customer requirements.
