- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (English), as well strong organizational abilities, with respect to the capability to manage and prioritize several assignments at one time with a view to delivery of a quality product on time and on budget.
- Strong knowledge of physical hydrogeology, dewatering, potable groundwater supply, and groundwater and surface water monitoring programs.
- The ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and the willingness to work overtime, as required.
- Well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage business relationships with clients, regulators and service providers/sub-contractors.
- Leading and mentoring junior and intermediate staff.
- Participate in GEMTECs business objectives and contribute to the growth of our civil and environmental engineering teams.
- Collaborating with, and supporting, other GEMTEC offices in Atlantic Canada and Ontario, as required.
- Performing project management duties, including client communications, resource management, development and monitoring of project scope, cost estimates/budgets and schedules.
- Providing oversight and technical support for field investigations including; drilling well installation, groundwater sampling, hydrogeological testing, etc.
- Preparing reports pertaining to hydrogeological projects.
- Consulting with municipal, provincial, and federal governments to determine submission requirements for permitting and approvals.
- Participating in other office and project responsibilities such as data management, analysis and interpretation, report and proposal preparation, report review, public consultation and presentations.
- Adhering to all company policies.

- Bachelor's degree in earth science, environmental science or geological/geotechnical/civil engineering with an emphasis in water resources and hydrogeology. A post-graduate degree is considered an asset.
- Professional license in NL (i.e., P.Geo. or P.Eng.)
- Minimum 12 years of relevant professional experience (preferably in consulting).
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal regulatory frameworks for groundwater withdrawal/use, drinking water supply, contaminated sites assessment and management, and environmental assessment is required.
- Familiarity with infrastructure, pit and quarry, and community supply required. Specific experience in the mining industry is considered an asset.
- Groundwater flow and transport modeling experience is an asset.
- Numerical and advanced hydraulic testing experience is an asset.
- Senior project management and people management skills are required.
- Valid driver's license
