This is a hybrid work position in Calgary, Alberta and requires in-person collaboration at the WestJet Campus (22 Aerial Place NE) 3 days per week. This provides flexibility the remaining 40% of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.WestJet is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Loyalty Accountant to support the accounting, invoicing, and reporting functions of our Rewards program. This role will collaborate closely with the WestJet Loyalty Accounting team, contributing to new initiatives and partnerships while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.Reporting to the Director of Revenue Accounting, the ideal candidate will be flexible, self-motivated, and able to follow established processes and guidelines with a high degree of accuracy.Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly sales and service agreement summaries to support invoicing of external partners.
- Work independently to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on ad-hoc reporting, analysis, special projects, and decision support.
- Contribute actively to the Finance team by sharing ideas and providing support across tasks.
- Document and maintain process narratives related to assigned responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and C-SOX requirements.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; interest in learning new systems and technologies.
- Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets and multiple systems.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Positive attitude with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to handle high volumes of work with accuracy.
