
Property Accountant

- Process tenant security deposit refunds
- Monitor bank accounts and ensure validity of transactions, including bank reconciliations
- Prepare bank deposits for multiple bank accounts
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Provide information and liaise with Regional Managers regarding financial matters
- Ensure all monthly internal financial reporting are delivered accurately and on a timely basis
- Analyze financial statements, identify trends, and prepare and/or assist with variance analysis
- Monitor and review accounting processes and procedures and recommend and/or implement changes as appropriate to improve internal controls and efficiencies
- Ensure all accounting records are kept up to date within guidelines established by international financial reporting standards
- Assist with internal and external auditor requirements
- Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budgets for the residential portfolio
- Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
- Relevant University or College degree in business, accounting, or economics
- CPA or working towards designation considered an asset
- 2-5 years of accounting experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Prior property accounting experience considered an asset
- Yardi (real-estate software) experience considered an asset
