A dynamic and community-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and energetic team player to fill the position of Operations & Human Resources Manager. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in both operations management and human resources, bringing a balanced approach to people and process management.Reporting to the Director, Finance & Operations, the Operations & Human Resources Manager holds a dual leadership role. This individual will oversee day-to-day office operations while developing and managing processes that foster a positive work culture and strong employee experience.This position encompasses core business functions such as efficient office administration, resource coordination, and organizational logistics, along with comprehensive HR responsibilities including recruitment, onboarding, policy implementation, and employee relations.This is a permanent fulltime position based out of their downtown Toronto office (hybrid - 2 days a week onsite).Key ResponsibilitiesOperations ManagementPlan, organize, and oversee daily operational activities to ensure business efficiency and continuity.Develop and manage operational budgets, track expenses, and ensure compliance with financial policies.Oversee procurement, logistics, supply chain activities, vendor contracts, and office inventory.Implement systems and workflows that enhance productivity and internal communications.Manage office facilities in collaboration with property managers, ensuring maintenance standards and code compliance.Act as the internal point of contact for IT support and coordinate with IT consultants.Facilitate IT orientation for new staff in collaboration with technology partners.Collect and monitor operational performance data to identify improvement opportunities.Align operational support with organizational priorities through collaboration with all departments.Lead or assist with office-related projects and support organizational events.Stay current on best practices and recommend process innovations.Human Resources ManagementDevelop, implement, and maintain HR policies aligned with organizational values and goals.Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development, and offboarding.Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll coordination.Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary processes.Create and facilitate staff training and development programs.Ensure compliance with employment legislation, health and safety regulations, and HR-related obligations.Support the performance management process, including 360-degree feedback.Maintain and safeguard HR data and employee records.Advise supervisors and staff on HR issues, policies, and procedures.Design and implement strategies to foster employee engagement and retention.Communicate HR updates and policies organization-wide.Monitor and adapt to HR trends and legislative changes.Professional QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and HR data systems.Strong knowledge of employment legislation and workplace health and safety standards.Proficient in budgeting, procurement, and operational planning.Advanced computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office and reporting tools.Strong analytical and research skills with excellent documentation abilities.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.Personal SkillsCollaborative leadership style with strong team management skills.Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.Highly organized, self-driven, and able to work independently and across departments.Results-focused with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a high level of accountability.EducationPost-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP, CHRL) is considered an asset.
