What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with the Senior Division Manager and branch level and regional leaders to achieve operational excellence through collaboration and resources sharing across the region and company.
  • Build a strong, cohesive, team culture that incorporates and prioritizes our shared commitment to safety, project management excellence, and client satisfaction.
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, and manage performance to develop and retain top talent.
  • Oversee diverse multi-disciplinary projects; envision, manage technical, logistical, and financial aspects, and carry out design from proposal stage through to commissioning
  • Lead operations for the division including building relationships with key clients, business development, workload, staffing, equipment, safety, quality, and financial outcomes.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in developing and executing branch strategic plans and budgets.
  • Represent McElhanney to the external environment including clients, business partners, community organizations and professional associations to enhance McElhanney’s positive public profile.
What You’ll Bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of municipal engineering experience, ideally in Alberta or Western Canada.
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with APEGA (or eligibility for registration).
  • Strong technical background in municipal servicing design and familiarity with local standards (City of Edmonton and surrounding municipalities).
  • Proven experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing engineering staff.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to conduct occasional field work
  • Desire to develop and grow a team
What Can We Offer You?The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000 per annum along with the opportunity to participate in our generous Performance Bonus Plan and to become a shareholder in our proud employee-owned company.McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
