Closing Date: April 27, 2026Position SummaryAs a Financial Analyst III in the Research Financial Services department, major responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Overseeing UHN's financial reporting for government grants with matched reporting
- Performing analyses on a regular basis for a range of functional centre accounts to identify issues and prioritize workload
- Analyzing grants for financial sustainability, compliance issues, projecting deficits and surpluses and making recommendations to Principal Investigators (the grant holders)
- Building relationships with Principal Investigators and their teams to help facilitate good communication. Including answer financial queries, address concerns, communicating fiscal requirements
- Preparing and posting journal entries as required
- Liaises, as required, with site and UHN departments, external clients, etc., to obtain information, respond to requests for information or explanation of financial and/or statistical data or site / UHN finance policies, processes and procedures, assist in training and provide technical assistance
- Performing cross-functional and other responsibilities, as assigned and/or required
- University degree in Business Administration or equivalent
- Working towards completion of a professional accounting program - e.g. CPA or relevant combination of education and experience
- Four years' (4) related experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of accounting principles, practices and procedures
- Working knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and satisfaction
- Skill in accurately performing detailed numerical computations in a timely manner using large amounts of financial and/or statistical data
- Skill in preparing detailed reports, with experience in government matched and in-kind reporting an asset
- Strong knowledge of computer application accounting systems and software applications, preferably in a Microsoft Office environment (i.e., Excel, Word, Access)
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working in a health care environment, preferred
- Experience with Salesforce, Analysis Services and/or PowerBI would be an asset
