- Develop and recommend high impact research, modelling, projection, and housing data projects that accurately reflect corporate and government priorities.
- Conduct research on a wide range of issues, challenges and solutions in relation to CMHC business areas. Manage, guide and provide oversight function for the work of external research consultants to ensure contracted deliverables and schedules.
- Develop and maintain models and analytic tools by leading, coordinating or supporting multi-disciplinary teams whose members may include internal and external experts and other stakeholders.
- Conduct analysis of primary and secondary data, using appropriate methodologies, quantitative and statistical analysis, to assess and address complex issues and challenges in the housing system.
- Provide substantive expert input to the review and development of housing policies, strategies, programs, regulations and standards.
- Provide thought leadership in areas of research expertise. Contribute to the achievement of the Corporate Strategy as they relate to housing analytics, research, knowledge transfer and evidence-based policy development.
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline. A completed PhD would be considered an asset. (An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered).
- A minimum of five years of experience in economic research, housing finance, econometrics, modelling, quantitative analytics, forecasting, policy simulation.
- Demonstrated experience in developing modeling and research projects in terms of scope, objectives, methodologies and management, and conducting rigorous quantitative analysis.
- Excellent communication and influence skills in both English and French, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience.
- Working knowledge of finance, economic, social, and political trends, factors and issues that affect housing policies and issues.
- Project management skills and experience.
- A "can do" mindset with the desire to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver results that have a positive impact on the team, business unit and corporation.
