Biophysical Program Manager

- Lead and manage biophysical projects including wetland, watercourse, wildlife, and vegetation assessments
- Provide technical and regulatory guidance to internal teams and clients in Alberta
- Lead regulatory submissions under the Water Act and Alberta Wetland Policy, including wetland delineation, classification, impact assessment, mitigation planning, and permitting
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, staffing, and deliverables
- Prepare and/or senior review technical reports, work plans, proposals, and cost estimates
- Support business development activities and maintain client relationships
- Mentor and support the growth of junior staff
- Assist with multidisciplinary environmental projects as needed
- Post-secondary degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, Environmental Resource Management, or a related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or wetland ecology
- Accreditation as an Authenticating Wetland Practitioner (AWP) and/or Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist (QAES)
- Strong understanding of Alberta's environmental regulatory frameworks, including the Water Act, Alberta Wetland Policy, and Public Lands Act
- Proven experience preparing and submitting Wetland Assessment and Impact Forms (WAIF), Wetland Assessment and Impact Reports (WAIR), and using the Wetland Rapid Evaluation Tool
- Experience conducting a broad variety of wetlands-specific scopes of work in both pre-construction and construction settings
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute field programs in remote and challenging environments
- Advanced proficiency in plant identification and ecological classification
- Strong technical writing skills, with experience as a senior reviewer and authenticating professional
- Project management experience is an asset
- Experience with watercourse crossing assessments is considered an advantage
