- Coordinate the tasks of support personnel involved in operations for which she/he is responsible ;
- Participate in the development of the Library collection as per established policies ;
- Contribute to the development of and take part in promotion activities for the Library such as orientation sessions on the use of various library resources and research techniques to students and teachers ;
- Participating in the full cataloguing for the Library collection (print and electronic) ;
- Maintain the Authority files ;
- See to the smooth operation of the circulation counter ;
- Manage overdue notices and hold requests ;
- Provide research support ;
- Proceed to the weeding of the collections as per established policies ;
- Ensure the day-to-day follow-up of the acquisitions budget ;
- Write and update procedures related to the tasks of the position ;
- Compile statistics ;
- Assist the Adapted Services Department with the research and acquisition of adapted documents (e.g. PDF, e-text, audio, MP3, videos, etc.) ;
- Any other related task.
- Diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty such as in Information and Library Technologies or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority;
- Three years of relevant experience;
- Experience in the coordination of group/team activities;
- Excellent communication skills in English and in French, both oral and written;
- Proficiency with various software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Omnivox, and Koha;
- Good knowledge of cataloguing and Dewey Decimal Classification;
- Knowledge of library management systems;
- Strong customer service;
- Ability to give captivating oral presentations;
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as operate independently;
- Knowledge of alternative media platforms (e.g. electronic)
