Staff are encouraged to contribute ideas, grow professionally, and work together to continuously enhance programs and services while building strong connections with families, community partners, and funders.Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic guidance, operational oversight, and organizational leadership during this period of transition. This role is accountable for maintaining the organization's financial health and sustainability, advancing its mission, and fostering strong relationships with staff, families, funders, and the broader community.The CEO will manage day-to-day operations, lead and mentor staff, support effective governance, and serve as the organization's public representative. The successful candidate will act as a champion for culture, guide the organization through change management initiatives, and help ensure continuity and stability during a transitional period. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both strategic vision and operational execution.Duties and Responsibilities:The key job functions are:
  • Collaborate with the Board to shape and implement strategic and operational plans, monitoring progress against objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Board by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact the organization.
  • Lead and champion organizational culture initiatives, fostering a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven environment.
  • Navigate change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and staff engagement during periods of organizational change.
  • Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with the Board, staff, families, funders, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization externally, enhancing its visibility, credibility, and community partnerships.
  • Lead, mentor, and support staff through role clarity, performance expectations, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
  • Oversee program planning, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement to align with organizational priorities.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures for Board approval and effective governance.
  • Ensure strong human resources practices, including staffing, structure, and policy implementation.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline or an accounting designation is considered an asset.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a Police Information Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Knowledge of non-profit governance, compliance requirements, and ethical leadership principles.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within a non-profit or community-based organization.
  • Proven experience working with a Board of Directors and supporting effective governance.
  • Demonstrated success in organizational leadership, strategic planning, change management, and guiding teams through transitions.
  • Experience overseeing financial operations, budgets, and external audits.
  • Public relations, stakeholder engagement, and community representation experience.

Base Salary: $110,000.00Work Hours:
  • Monday – Friday.
  • 40 hours per week.

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
