- Assist the Surveyors in performing their daily duties and follow instructions as directed
- Transport and set up equipment and survey instruments
- Use a variety of tools (hammer, frost pin, shovel) to support accurate surveying and construction activities
- Safely operate a light duty vehicle in a high traffic and congested environment
- Accurately take measurements and record data
- Actively participate and be committed in Ledcor’s safety program
- Candidates with previous experience as a Survey Assistant are preferred
- Education in the fields of surveying, geomatics and civil engineering fields will be highly regarded
- Knowledge and experience of setting up survey equipment and instruments such as GPS units, levels and total stations, although training will be provided to the right candidate
- Basic knowledge of surveying principles and an aptitude for mathematics and an analytical mindset
- Effective and concise communication skills are key to this role
- Must be able to handle the physical demands of outdoor conditions and the ability to move equipment
- Reliable team player with a strong work ethic and desire to learn and progress
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Hold a valid Class 5 drivers license and provide a clean 3-year drivers record
- CSTS-2020, Fall Protection and WHMIS 2015 (training can be provided)
- Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with evenings and weekends free to enjoy at home
- Work will be primarily outdoors in all year-round weather conditions
