Consideration would be given to other Ontario offices, including Ottawa, Ontario. As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist, you will play a key role in a wide variety of physical hydrogeology projects, which may include water supply studies, hydrogeologic assessments, dewatering studies, and supporting mining projects and permitting.Stantec supports your career growth with:Flexible work arrangementsExcellent and comprehensive benefits for healthcare and dentalWellness plans to support mental, physical, social, and financial well-beingRegistered retirement savings plan and employee stock purchase plan, both with employer contributionsFormalized career planning and development processYour Key ResponsibilitiesExcellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentationsAbility to meet a strong demand for high-quality, organized and consistent resultsAbility to work under little supervision and work well with others to achieve group successAbility to work on several projects or tasks during any given day consistentlyRecognized for your high level of technical skills and practical ability to solve problems in various settingsMust be able to manage time, be organized, and set prioritiesMaintain a disciplined approach to project execution and technical excellencePossess strong problem-solving skills and ability to make timely decisionsParticipate in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards, and Guidelines in the execution of all workFamiliarity with local practices and markets as well as entry-level project management skills are considered an assetA valid G driver’s license is requiredYour Capabilities and CredentialsFollow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe mannerOrganize field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies, including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater and surface water sampling; water level monitoring; hydraulic conductivity testing; and infiltration testingDevelop conceptual site hydrogeologic understandingAnalyze and interpret data, including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water, and groundwater interactionPrepare technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical results, and interpretationAssist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedulesTravel as required to various field sites, with overnight travel sometimes requiredComfortable working outdoors in various conditions and able to lift /move items and equipment up to 50 lbs, when requiredDemonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelinesThe majority of time is spent in an office environment with prolonged sitting and computer workEducation and ExperiencePost-secondary educational background, ideally M.Sc., specializing in a Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeology.A minimum of 5 years of hydrogeological experience. Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.   • Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$82,000.00 - $118,900.00 Annually
  • Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$86,900.00 - $126,000.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
