We continue to work towards creating a workforce that represents the diversity of our clients and our communities.Role OverviewSupport, organize and assist in all categories of the Canadian Customs department.Responsibilities
  • Match advice notifications with arrival notifications daily.
  • Input for electronic clearance of eligible shipments
  • Customs - Paper entries for goods requiring special government clearances (I.e. CITES, wood products, etc.)
  • Classify goods and calculate applicable duties, taxes, and fees
  • Preparation and transmittance of B3 documents to Canadian Customs, accounting for the duties and taxes on incoming shipments
  • Prepare and submit monthly LVS entry for low value shipments
  • Prepare and submit entries for supplementary payments/drawbacks to Canada Customs, when required
  • Prepare and submit CITES permit applications
  • Research NAFTA guidelines when re-exporting U.S. made goods to the U.S.; create foreign suppliers declaration to accompany the shipment
  • Verify that incoming delivery notes match intra-company invoices, sort documentation for preparation of control documents
QualificationsEducation:
  • University or college degree/diploma
  • Valid Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation
Experience:
  • Minimum 2-3 Years of experience in a similar position.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of CBSA systems and regulatory procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team-oriented
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP and Descartes system
  • Good understanding of the Canadian customs process
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
