The offered salary will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) currently has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Planning - Team Lead to support our Western Canada Parts Distribution Centre (WCPDC) team. This is a 24-month contract opportunity and will report to the Manager of Parts Distribution Centre.The selected candidate will manage a team of four individuals while supporting inventory-related operations and facility enhancements.What We’ll Bring:Company & Culture

What You’ll be Doing:Leadership & People Development
  • Support ongoing learning and development of team members by providing direct feedback, coaching, mentoring, career path guidance, and addressing performance concerns
  • Provide team members recognition, gap assessment, and overall performance documentation to support and reinforce career and personal growth
  • Support & document safety orientations for facility trades & business partners at site
Continuous Improvement Activities
  • Manage small to medium process improvements and building enhancement projects through data analytics, and report creation
  • Support leadership with major projects
  • Use Toyota Business Practices (TBP) problem-solving tools to address root causes and develop countermeasures; ensure proper documentation and maintenance
  • Track the progress of all continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities within the team
  • Use appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on those in support of change during all stages of Kaizen – Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA)
  • Communicate Kaizen implementations across facility teams as activities launch, are in progress, and as objectives and deliverables are met
  • Share Kaizen ideas and implementations with other facilities
  • Facilitate TBP Meetings and coach others on Toyota Business Practice Methodology
Operations Support & Storage Management
  • Create reports as needed to support project requirements and ad hoc reports for varying PDC performance criteria
  • Ensure the development, update, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and user guides for your team
  • Support facility 5-S activities (4S +S) and oversee facility cycle count processes
  • Assist in the development of effective storage strategies that meet velocity and ergonomic requirements
  • Serve as backup during vacations and unplanned absences for the operations planning team
What You’ll Bring:
  • University degree, College diploma or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop a team
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven methodology for problem solving
  • Experience coordinating & monitoring project processes, and developing & communicating guidelines and procedures
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to prioritize issues and risks to senior leaders
  • Ability to work harmoniously with individuals at all levels in and outside the organization
  • Experience initiating & improving work processes to increase safety, quality, and efficiencies
  • Solid digital proficiency with platforms such as SAP and MS Office Applications (Excel is required and Power BI is an asset)
