Job DescriptionJoin our team as a Yard Scrap Auditor in Hamilton, where you'll spend the majority of your time hands-on in the yard, inspecting and verifying materials to ensure everything meets our quality standards. You'll also spend some time (about 20%) in the office, helping with documentation, tracking, and reporting-so no two days are the same!This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being active, working outdoors, and taking pride in keeping operations running smoothly!What you're responsible for:
  • Identifying inbound material grades, non-conformities, non-recyclable and hazardous material in inbound loads
  • Effectively and successfully training productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Inspection Team
  • Facilitating and directing trucks to correct yard locations in an efficient manner
  • Performing Daily Checks (Pile Quality, Truck Inspection, Gate Cleanliness, Overnight Loads)
  • Providing feedback to production about material quality or sale specifications
  • Coordinating quick action for loads that need to be sorted and dealt with in a timely fashion
  • Communicating with supervisors and commercial team about downgrades and deductions
  • Assisting in the implementation of training programs to train external team members on quality and procedures
  • Reviewing outbound sales to ensure quality specifications are met
QualificationsTo join our team:
  • You are experienced in working around heavy equipment
  • You are comfortable with working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • You have strong attention to detail and good work ethic
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • You have strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
