- Experience in Roadway Lighting Design and Traffic Signal Design is a must. Preference is given to the Province of Ontario’s Street Lighting and/or Traffic Signal Design experience.
- As a Senior Engineer, lead the electrical project team and attend project meetings.
- Mentor the Junior Electrical team members in the Electrical design process.
- Perform lighting calculations (AGI software knowledge desired), loading calculations, short circuit calculations, voltage drop calculations, and Arc Flash Analysis calculations
- Ministry of Transportation, Ontario’s work experience is desired
- Generate/Review one-line diagrams, traffic signals, roadway lighting wiring diagrams, and electrical details.
- Write and edit project construction specifications.
- Review shop drawings, equipment submittals, perform site observations, and punch lists
- Coordinate on-site with the electrical contractor Perform field inspections and provide professional field support as necessary during construction phases.
- 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-12 years of related work experience.
- Proficient in the utilization of current electrical engineering theories and practices.
- Professional Engineer registration is a must.
- Potential to perform in an engineering team, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are desired.
- Experience on MTO and other municipal agencies of Ontario is desired.
- Must be proficient in use of Lighting Design Software AGI32.
- Must be proficient in doing Voltage Drop Calculations, short circuit calculations and arc flash analysis calculations.
- Strong background in AutoCAD, MicroStation and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is desired.
