Maintenance Service Worker 1 (MSW1) - Park Maintenance Worker 1:
$23.11 - $26.00 per hour
Maintenance Service Worker 3 (MSW3) - Park Maintenance Crew Lead:
$26.18 - $32.08 per hourIn addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
- 5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings
- Park Maintenance Worker 1 (MSW1) - 3 positions
- Park Maintenance Worker 3 (MSW3) - 1 position
- Completing administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and online courses.
- Lawn maintenance and minor repairs of facilities.
- Performing routine custodial and cleaning duties of park facilities.
- Responding to in-person requests for information on area amenities and park conditions, as needed.
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles and equipment.
- Completing trail and signage projects.
- Reporting all maintenance concerns accordingly.
- Being familiar with and practicing all pertinent Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies, procedures and protocols as well as the Facility Emergency Response Plan and protocols.
- Onsite lead for a crew of MSW staff. Accountable for direct site operations, and for leading the task scheduling for other staff.
- Leading trail crews where applicable.
- Assisting with formal inspections, maintenance and servicing of equipment.
- Conducting purchasing and orders supply inventory within budget.
- Assisting with staff training and staff performance reviews.
- Supporting the operation of various systems in accordance with standards and regulations to ensure safe provision of drinking water and wastewater removal.
Some high school education
Equivalency: Directly related experience considered on the basis of 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.Park Maintenance Crew Lead - (Maintenance Service Worker 3)
Some high school education, related training and 2 years of related experience
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; OR 1 year of experience for 1 year of education, and some supervisory experience.Additional requirements:
- Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent and Driver's Abstract.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate.
- Experience with hand and power tools; good working knowledge in the operation, maintenance and safety of small equipment.
- Experience working in custodial, landscaping, or similar positions.
- Chainsaw certification.
- Exceptional communication skills and comfort level in dealing with difficult customer interactions or complaints.
- Experience working within a campground setting.
- Position start/end dates vary (late April - late September 2026).
- Access to reliable transportation to and from place of work.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent will be required.
- Final Candidates may be required to provide an acceptable 5yr Commercial Driver's Abstract.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate will be required.
- Adherence to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy; all personal protective equipment is provided; Certified Safety footwear is not provided, but candidates will be reimbursed for a portion of the cost.
- These positions will require outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Training sessions at the beginning of employment are mandatory (late April/early May 2026)
