Position: Full-Time Permanent
Posting Closing Date: September 9, 2025The Campus Maintenance is responsible for providing general upkeep of the buildings, grounds, and equipment within Schaller School. The Campus Maintenance will troubleshoot problems on-site and report to the Vice-Principal the issues and possible solutions. For projects outside their expertise, the Campus Maintenance will monitor those contracts. This role assists education staff and provides supervision, care, and role-modelling to participants.Education and Professional Certification
  • Specialized training in various certifications or applications relating to basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds keeping.
Experience
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience related to janitorial, property management, repair and maintenance work.
  • Experience as an educational assistant, job coach, or youth care worker is an asset.

Services
  • Provide janitorial services for school and other education buildings, including deep cleaning and repairs in the summer months.
  • Yard maintenance and service include water and landscape areas, roads, walkways, and garbage removal.
  • Building exterior maintenance include sidewalk treated for ice, snow removed, leaves raked.
  • Collaborate and work with staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise and engage with participants in a safe and structured environment as required.
  • Provide lunchroom supervision and provide education staff assistance when required.
  • Develop daily maintenance plans for approval.
  • Implement daily routines to ensure facilities are monitored properly.
  • Notify proper upkeep of facilities, grounds, school vehicle, and equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
  • Monitor school vehicle usage and servicing. Track monthly logs.
  • Provide facilities, grounds, and equipment support, including assisting with special events set up and tear down.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff in proper and responsible use of equipment and supplies when required.
  • Submit and monitor purchase order requests for janitorial supplies.
  • Complete reports and documentation clearly, accurately, in a timely manner, and within agency standard.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Management of Resources
  • Provide routine maintenance to education vans if required.
  • Submit receipts and reconcile expenses for manager approved expenditure.
  • Accountable for the cost-effective stewardship of pre-approved expenses, equipment, inventories, and supplies.

  • Maintain, promote, and reinforce safe work habits, practices, and procedures.
  • Adhere to written or verbal agency and government regulations, policies, practices, and instructions.
Additional Requirements
  • The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
  • Employees must hold a class five (5) novice two (2) or higher drivers license and be eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.
