I am seeking an unwavering weekend caregiver for a loved family member, who has been facing Dementia for over ten years with immense strength and grace. The current phase of the condition exhibits mid to late-stage challenges, complicating everyday routines and basic communication. The role of this caregiver would include facilitating support transfers i.e., safely moving our beloved family member from a bed to a chair, or from the bathroom to the living room. All aspects of personal care are required. The ideal candidate will approach this sensitive task with utmost clarity, stability, patience and gentleness, ensuring that our loved one always feels secure and comfortable. As a family, we highly prioritize healthy living and holistic wellness, and so we perceive that any familiarity with these aspects would be quite advantageous in a potential caregiver. We would greatly appreciate someone who could prepare nutritious meals as per the prescribed meal plan and support our family member's health through established natural health strategies, adapting as per the changing needs. We provide the framework. Rest assured, we understand the importance of preparedness, and so we will ensure our chosen caregiver is fully equipped with comprehensive training that they might need. Our goal is for you to have a sound foundation of knowledge so that you can best serve as a caregiver and a comforting and trustworthy companion. We have a preferred start date of 26th September 2025 with a required work schedule of Friday evening to Monday evening with a daily evening rest period. A valid driver's license is a must due to the necessity to use your own vehicle for this role, whether it's for running errands, grocery shopping, or other similar duties. As this is a live-out, full-time role, you'll need to be available for more than 50 hours a week. Other job responsibilities include housekeeping, laundry, maintaining cleanliness of the bathroom, and assisting with walking. We prefer someone who's willing to work with or has experience in dealing with Dementia, Incontinence (diapers), Hearing Impairment, Arthritis, and Speech Impairment.
