Yellowknife is a welcoming community of about 20,000 northerners located on the shores of Great Slave Lake. The geographical location means there are numerous outdoor activities on your doorstep. The community also provides a wide range of programming and events for those less adventurous folks. The city will quickly become your home and you'll enjoy many of the same amenities you'd find in larger more southern cities, without the traffic!In this role you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to your internal colleagues and external community government clients in all areas of community public infrastructure asset management. You will directly assist NWT community governments with implementation of their own Asset Management programs as well as supporting other initiatives under the NWT Asset Management Strategy Framework.In this role you will have the opportunity to travel throughout the territory on a regular basis. This includes travel by road, where possible, and small aircraft. Upwards of 30% of your time will be spent outside of the office.To be successful in this role you must have:A Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate discipline (engineering, asset management, public administration, or planning) with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience; with a primary focus on asset management or capital planning. ORA civil/building engineering technologist with five (5) years of relevant experience; two (2) of which have a primary focus on asset management or capital planning.
