- Prospective advising: Duties include advising prospective students on potential transfer credit, providing a plan to meet admission requirements, and guiding prospective students through the application process.
- Application assessment: Duties include processing applications for program admission from inquiry to decision stage and ensuring completeness of required information (e.g. transcripts, reference letters, etc.).
- Program advising, post-acceptance: Duties include registering students in all courses and advising new and continuing students on program related matters such as academic standing, GPA calculations and scenarios, program changes, potential transfer credit and/or PLAR, and advanced program planning.
- Program decisions: Duties include approving/denying program decisions such as course-overload applications and transfer credits.
- Convocation and program completion: Duties include completing convocation clearing for graduates to ensure full degree requirements are met.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with Indigenous students.
- Understanding and possession of a strong knowledge base of issues pertinent in Indigenous communities.
- Education degree or experience in the K-12 sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of the cultural knowledge and perspective required to connect with Indigenous communities, schools and students, plus knowledge of Treaty 6 communities is an asset.
- Ability to speak and communicate in any Indigenous language is an asset.
- Training and experience with university administrative systems in student administration, including PeopleSoft/Campus Solutions, Electronic Document Records Management/Alfresco and the Undergraduate Admission System (Slate).
