The 2nd Cook is responsible for preparing a wide variety of foods and meals, made and served to the highest standard possible. They are responsible for inspecting food and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Where We Work and Live:The Jansen Discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the BHP Jansen potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK.Our positions work on a 14 day on, 7 days off rotation. Accommodations and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company.Responsibilities:Ensure meals are prepared and severed to the highest standardSupport kitchen operations in a professional mannerKnowledgeable with the equipment that you are required to use in a safe mannerInspect food and equipment on a daily, weekly, and monthly basisLeave your workplace in a clean and tidy mannerOther duties as assigned by management from time to timeQualifications:Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in cookingThe successful candidate must hold a valid food safety certificate2-3 years' experience as 2nd cook in the hotel/restaurant industryAbility to prioritize and multitaskProfessional communication skills, oral, and writtenWork well under pressureWe would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.This position has been identified as safety sensitive and will require completion and successful passing of a pre-employment alcohol & drug test and criminal record check.
