Salary Range: C$20 - C$23 per HourIntroductionThe Corporate Archives is responsible for the enterprise governance & oversight of the permanent records and historical artifacts for a leading financial group in Canada. The Associate Archivist plays a crucial role in supporting the Corporate Archivist with accessioning, cataloguing, preservation, and promotion of these records and artifacts. This position also manages access to the material while adhering to privacy and confidentiality guidelines.Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual - French & English
- Graduate degree in MLIS, specializing in Archival Science – can be in progress if candidates will graduate this semester
- Demonstrated experience describing and providing access to archival records
- Training in archival management and techniques of preservation
- Knowledge of emerging trends in archival processing, access & management
- Knowledge of trends in digital archival management
- Proficiency in Client Office
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with identification & management of confidential and other sensitive documents
- Project management skills
- Archival skills in preservation & handling of delicate materials to industry standards
- Frequent movement, moderate exertion and the ability to lift or move up to 40lbs is required
- Valid passport
- Photoshop experience
- Cataloging historical and born digital collections
- Helping to facilitate the transfer of records and artifacts to the department
- Performing basic preservation activities to safeguard the material
- Digitizing collections for accessibility
- Perform research activities using the database to respond to internal and external research requests
- Assist with the implementation of a Digital Asset Management System
- Help facilitate heritage displays across the company’s global real estate
- Provide heritage tours in English and French
- Develop, write, and publish content based on material from the archives
- Flexible working hours, Monday to Friday
