- Providing environmental support to the on-site construction and project management teams
- Developing and implementing project environmental plans to ensure that work is completed in compliance with all relevant client requirements as well as provincial and/or federal regulations
- Evaluate compliance with applicable customer standards and commitments:
- Construction Environmental Management Plans
- Cultural and Heritage Resources Protection Plans
- Wildlife Resource and Habitat Protection / Mitigation Plans
- SWPPP
- Vegetation, Weed & Pest Management Plans
- Reclamation Plans
- Monitoring and proactive reporting of any potential environmental issues to the environmental lead and construction manager, including recommendations and implementation strategies for the appropriate corrective actions
- Documenting daily on-site environmental inspections and maintaining a photographic log of site activities and conditions
- Training of employees and contractors on environmental awareness and aspect controls
- Working closely with construction crews and client environmental representatives to ensure requirements are achieved
- Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
- University Degree or Diploma in Environmental, Agricultural or Biological Sciences or equivalent
- Two (2) + years of experience within the Construction Industry or relevant environmental field experience. Powerline Transmission experience is preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of provincial and federal regulations, codes, permits and approvals, as well as their technical application
- Able and willing to present a current valid Driver's License and an acceptable five (5) year drivers abstract
- Able and willing to frequently travel to field/on-site with work hour flexibility to accommodate project/site schedule
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with FBL personnel, clientele and outside representatives of applicable regulatory agencies
