Reporting to the Director of Sales, Home Electronics (HE), the new Manager, Business Development focused on business development and will be responsible for driving new business opportunities beyond current and traditional consumer electronic retail channels, expanding channel partnerships, and increasing Samsung’s online presence and ecommerce sales.This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in identifying and cultivating business relationships from inception to scale, building effective strategies, and optimizing digital commerce operations to maximize revenue. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development (retail and builder), e-commerce growth, and partnership management, along with a passion for innovation in the online business space.The incumbent is expected to understand and clearly articulate Samsung’s products and value proposition to partners. The candidate will also be expected to travel and to exhibit exceptional skills in communication, selling, cold calling, reporting and forecasting, and administrative duties.Role and Responsibilities
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities, including potential customers, market segments and untapped geographical regionals which result in the achievement of increased revenue, profitability and market share.
  • Develop and implement strategies to build and manage partnerships that drive mutual growth.
  • Building sales growth aligned to the strategic objectives of the business units (HE).
  • Analyze current e-commerce performance, market trends, and consumer behavior to define and execute growth strategies for online sales.
  • Driving new and current business forward and delivering sell-thru and other specified results.
  • Driving new channel opportunities such as premium incentive, corporate B2B, real estate companies, builders, interior designers & luxury home builders, banks, ecommerce and reward companies.
  • Meeting directly with new customers to drive new business for Samsung.
  • Navigating the organization and partner with cross-functional team members to effectively drive key deliverables.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on the business; balancing strategy with flawless execution.
  • Developing and negotiating customer sales agreements on behalf of SECA for assigned products.
  • Meeting regularly with the customer to become a trusted advisor who can effectively communicate Samsung’s vision and interfacing at all levels within organizations to obtain support for strategy and tactical plan, including negotiating necessary arrangements.
  • Providing ongoing communication with stakeholders including the customer, and internal cross-functional and executive leadership teams on business trends, strategy, and analysis to ensure satisfaction and lead negotiations that will continue to grow the business and create new opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining consistency in all marketing vehicles to further leverage the Samsung brand and suite of products. This includes the analysis and integration of customer sales data, market metrics, competitor landscape and insights that will lead to transformational ideas and influence strategic and tactical plans.
  • Preparing and presenting budgets, project plans and other related reports along with subsequent actuals to track achievement to objectives and mitigate risk to plan.
  • Providing account plans to develop mutual performance objectives. This includes communicating financial targets, securing product availability, delivery schedules and promotional plans, and identifying critical milestones to ensure that customer negotiated commitments are achieved according to plan.
  • Expect to travel as required to fulfil role, for ongoing customer and SECA internal meetings.
Skills and QualificationsRequirements:Education:
  • University education preferred.
Knowledge:
  • Key knowledge of the Home Electronics channel.
Experience:
  • 7+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Retail and builder experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office products.
  • Existing relationships important.
  • Proven selling ability.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Possess business acumen and strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills; ability to translate KPIs and results into actionable insights and initiatives to drive top/bottom line growth.
  • Versatile in multi-tasking
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in organizations: from senior executives to support staff within and outside of the company.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and capable of self-directed work given only broad objectives and limited direct supervision.
  • Must be capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments.
  • Be driven and results-oriented; acts with a sense of urgency without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Strong persuasive skills and ability to influence decision-makers and align stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Have a high-level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, and executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic and proactive organization.
Travel:
  • This role is based out of our Mississauga Sales office.
  • Expect to travel as required to fulfil role, for ongoing customer and SECA internal meetings.
