FSP accepts technical certification credit for military experience in relevant fields.Apply today and become part of a company where your skills and dedication are valued.Job Description:The Fire Alarm Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the testing, inspection, verification, installation, and servicing of fire alarm and life-safety systems in compliance with applicable codes and company standards. This position provides technical leadership, ensures project quality and efficiency, and serves as the first point of contact for the fire alarm technicians. The Lead Technician plays a vital role in maintaining system reliability to protect people, property, and assets.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and perform testing, inspection, verification, installation, and servicing fire alarm systems.
  • Supervise and mentor technicians to ensure high-quality workmanship by reviewing technicians’ annual inspection reports, adherence to safety protocols, and professional development.
  • Review work orders, blueprints, and installation manuals to determine project scope, materials, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex system issues, ensuring compliance with specifications and code requirements.
  • Verify system programming and functionality; demonstrate operations and preventive measures to clients.
  • Support technicians with complications on site related to installation, service, and repairs of fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, service activities, and system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national fire and life-safety codes and standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by your manager.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Valid CFAA License (Canadian Fire Alarm Association)required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fire alarm system installation, testing, or maintenance, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid certification with Notifier.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
