- Contribute to a variety of transit planning and operations studies, and strategic multi-modal transportation planning projects, such as policy development, demand forecasting, master plans, corridor studies, rapid transit and transit priority, accessibility/specialized transit, technology and station / hub studies.
- Support Dillon’s leading technical staff/project managers in the delivery of projects for a variety of public sector clients (transit systems, transportation departments, provincial governance and community support sectors).
- Complete projects and team activities related to transit planning and operations, with the opportunity to also extend your skills to community engagement, multi-modal transportation planning, preliminary design and traffic operations projects across the country.
- Write proposals and support other marketing and administrative efforts.
- Attend meetings and liaise with various private and public sector clients and sub-consultants.
- Contribute to Dillon’s culture and corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
- Travel as required to support project needs.

- A degree in urban planning, civil engineering or equivalent; a Master’s Degree would be an asset.
- Between two (2) to six (6) years of professional experience in transit or transportation planning.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, including some basic programing skills. Proficiency working with Python is an asset.
- Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination.
- Well-developed report writing, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated abilities in use of GIS software (ArcView GIS) is an asset.
- Strategic transit planning and operations studies.
- On Demand transit studies and implementation plans.
- Transit terminal, station or Mobility hub or on-route infrastructure studies.
- Integrated mobility / transportation policy development.
- Accessibility studies addressing the needs of persons with disabilities.
- Transit ridership forecasting and financial plans.
- Rapid transit corridor business case studies, environmental assessments and/or functional design.
- Service guideline development and operational policies / procedures
- Transportation master plans, area transportation plans and/or secondary plans for medium and large communities/developments
- Transit governance and finance assessment
- Transit ITS and fleet electrification planning.
- Public and agency consultation activities, including Public Open Houses/Information Centres and development of other engagement activities.
- Passionate about issues facing transit and transportation in urban and rural areas.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team.
