This program provides the opportunity to rotate through multiple departments over the course of 12-months, where you will gain hands on experience and tackle challenging projects.If you are looking for a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple clients, and gaining hands on experience than this role is for you!RotationsYou will have the ability to learn and rotate through our key departments over 12-months.DepartmentsThis program specifically focuses on our Supply Chain and Transportation Operations of NLS and may have the opportunity to learn and rotate through our key departments such as Business Development, Customer Service and Engineering.Career OpportunitiesThis program leads to a variety of positions across the company, including Operations Supervisor, Operations Manager and General Manager.EligibilityIf you have completed or are in the process of completing a Supply Chain program, you are eligible to apply for this position.Program Overview: This position will run from May 2024 to May 2025This position will have a primary focus on learning our Operations Department, and rotate through our key departments which may include Transportation, Customer Service, Business Development and Engineering for 12 months.This exciting new program will complete multiple rotations throughout NLS and become proficient in all aspects of our operations.This role will play a key role in assisting and learning the day-to-day operational requirements for the overall business.Throughout the rotation the OMT will have the opportunity to take a leadership position, contribute, to participate in key projects, and play a key role in participating in strategic projects.Learning & DevelopmentThis position will have a mentor assigned to them throughout the duration of the program who will act as a coach and help guide and navigate them through the different areas of the program.This role will be provided with continuous learning opportunities throughout the program. By the end of this program, you will have learned in-depth supply chain practices and roles and responsibilities of various departments within the organization. NLS has a large focus on self-directed and personal development. NLS has invested in multiple self-directed learning resources, and company led programs to aid in the growth of our employees.What does success look like?A successful OMT is someone who dives deep into understanding our operations and process, who is able provide impact, contribute to the overall goal of the organization, partner with key stakeholders, and takes a hold of continuous and self-directed learning.Upon successfully completing the program, this role has the opportunity to continue in a full-time role with NLS. While the primary focus is operations, future opportunities will also be available in our support departments.ResponsibilitiesLeadership:
  • Assist the supervisors coordinate and supervise the activities within the facilities
  • Learn to resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports
  • Be able to train staff in job duties, company policies and safety procedures
  • Participate in regular production and service review meetings and/or calls with client and NLS stakeholders, and speak to the weekly service trends
Operational:
  • Learn to manage the order flow in the warehouse management system and on the floor with the team
  • Learn how to analyze and conduct labour plans for the Distribution Centres
  • Develop a strong understanding of supporting activities on the floor such as RF Scanning, picking, packing and its impact to the rest of the organization
Administrative:
  • Liaise with internal departments related to issues regarding Operations, Transportation, and Customer Service (Ex. billing inquiries, customer inquiries)
  • Identify and communicate client concerns or trends to the Client Solutions Manager, Operational Manager and/ or Transport Manager for escalation and follow-up
  • Respond to all customers inquiries (via telephone, email, fax or in person) in a professional, polite manner with the goal to provide customer-focused service
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma; Supply Chain Related Discipline preferred
  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, or retail preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Willing travel across the NLS network as needed (Mississauga/ Etobicoke/ Brampton)
