Description of the company:Our client is a well-established, mid-sized architecture firm based in Toronto, specializing in institutional projects including K–12 schools and long-term care facilities. The practice is known for thoughtful, community-focused design, strong technical delivery, and long-standing client relationships.The firm has a tight-knit, family-like culture with very low turnover. People tend to stay long-term, and collaboration between project teams and principals is a big part of how the office operates. Why is this role open:The firm is growing its institutional portfolio and is looking to bring in a Project Architect who can lead projects end-to-end and take real ownership over delivery.This role exists to strengthen internal project leadership and support Principals across multiple active school and long-term care projects. Responsibilities:Lead projects through all phases, from concept to constructionDevelop design concepts and carry them through technical executionPrepare and review permit and construction documentationCoordinate consultants (structural, MEP, civil, etc.)Ensure compliance with OBC, accessibility, and institutional standardsLiaise directly with clients, school boards, and operatorsParticipate in client meetings and presentationsSupport quality control and internal design standardsMentor junior staff and contribute to team developmentMust-haves:Architectural degree and registration eligibility (OAA preferred)Strong experience with institutional projects (schools, long-term care, healthcare, or similar)Proficiency in RevitSolid knowledge of the Ontario Building CodeExperience working through all project phasesComfortable leading projects and dealing directly with clientsStrong coordination and communication skills Nice-to-haves:Experience working with public sector or school board clientsStrong design sensibility in addition to technical skillsExperience mentoring junior team membersFamiliarity with alternative delivery modelsHybrid. 4 days in office is the standard, with some flexibility.Know someone great?
