This project represents a strategic investment in Canada's mining sector and offers long-term growth potential for professionals in project execution and controls.We are seeking a SITE COST LEAD (CONTRACTOR) to oversee all cost management activities for a major mining development in Northern BC. This role is critical to ensuring financial discipline, transparency, and alignment with project execution strategies.
Location: Northern British Columbia (Fly-in/Fly-out)
Type: Full-Time | Rotation Schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
Working Hours: 12-hour shift
Project: Tier-1 Copper-Gold Development
Duration: 1 year with possible extensionWork Environment:
- Site-based role with modern camp accommodations.
- Fly-in/fly-out from major hubs in BC and Alberta.
- Safety-first culture with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and maintenance of detailed cost control systems, including WBS and cost codes.
- Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts, commitments, expenditures, and variances.
- Analyze cost trends and provide early warnings on potential overruns or savings opportunities.
- Support contract administration and procurement teams with cost-related insights and change order evaluations.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and dashboards for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and external audit requirements.
- Collaborate with scheduling and risk teams to integrate cost data into overall project performance metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in cost control within large-scale industrial or mining projects.
- Advanced proficiency in cost management tools (e.g., EcoSys, SAP, Prism).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
