Plus you can bring your dog to work with you!About the RoleIn this role, the Senior Construction Administrator will manage architectural projects during construction, acting as the architect's representative to ensure that everything aligns with the plans and specifications. This includes handling daily construction administration tasks to keep the project running smoothly from beginning to end.Responsibilities
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for construction projects.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with company, professional, and local standards.
  • Keep project documentation current, including site instructions and change orders.
  • Review shop drawings and address construction issues promptly.
  • Provide instructions and respond to inquiries from contractors.
  • Coordinate change notices and subcontractors.
  • Attend site meetings and conduct reviews to ensure adherence to plans.
  • Review contractor progress and issue certificates and reports as needed.
  • Coordinate project closeout and communicate closely with the design team.
  • Conduct peer reviews of construction documents prior to issuance.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven construction administration experience in an architecture firm, ideally with institutional building types.
  • Familiarity with stipulated sum contracts like CCDC-2 and converted CM contracts such as CCDC-5B.
  • Experience with Construction Management, Design-Build, or IPD projects preferred.
  • Previous construction industry experience is an asset.

  • Neat and orderly documentation management.

  • Proficient in building science and construction methods.
  • Experienced in providing design feedback and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Revit and contract-related software preferred.
Education:
  • Diploma from a two-year technical program or degree in architecture preferred.
