Work alongside nurses who are engaged, passionate, and committed to excellence. What You'll Do: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill and pre & post-operative neurosciences patients. Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Seizure Monitoring Unit. Lead and collaborate in patient care planning and evaluation. Support patients and families through education and advocacy. Contribute to a positive team culture focused on excellence and innovation. Develop leadership skills by functioning by mentoring new staff and students.Description:As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Current CLPNA registration. Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities. Strong communication skills. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Ability to repeatedly push, pull, and lift objects over 50 lbs. Preferred Qualifications:1-3 years of experience caring for patients with neurological conditions. Experience with EPIC electronic health records. Seizure monitoring unit experience (Unit 111). TORBSST, NIHSS certified. Cardiac monitoring experience. Experience mentoring new staff or final practicum students. Background in acute medicine and surgery nursing.
