- Diagnose and resolve issues encountered on production equipment efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on both electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, transformers, and other plant equipment.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, installation, improvement, and repair activities of plant equipment as required, ensuring accurate maintenance records are kept.
- Ensure plant and equipment are maintained and operated in line with industry standards and operational requirements.
- Work closely with the EH&S Officer to ensure safety and environmental compliance across the team.
- Collaborate with production teams and external vendors for troubleshooting and system diagnostics.
- Participate in emergency equipment repairs and on-call duties as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities by suggesting ideas for enhancing system performance and plant efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Diploma in Industrial Mechanics (or equivalent) or relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, ideally with electromechanical system experience.
- Experience in manufacturing or food processing industries (preferred).
- Certification in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation-related fields.
- Welding skills would be an asset.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and openness to learning new software tools.
- Shift Work: Must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
- Ability to lift and handle weights up to 50 lbs.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ingenuity, and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
- Safety First mindset with an ability to work in compliance with safety protocols.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
- Company truck will be provided for travel between work locations.
- Physically demanding work including handling heavy loads, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
- Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots required.
