We’re not just about insurance; we’re about making a real difference by protecting what matters most.The opportunityWe are currently looking to hire a Large Loss Commercial Property Claims Examiner to join our Complex Loss Team.In this role, you will be responsible for the review of claim files and oversight of claims handled by third party adjusters. Unlike the complex loss adjusters who are on site and gather information directly, the examiners provide direction and oversight over the execution of the required steps and customer service rendered by a Third Party Adjuster. You will ensure alignment with Aviva's best practices and handling procedures. You will manage the IA in the investigation, quantification, analysis, adjustment, and settlement of property claims. With a focus on quality and customer service, you will need to work with appropriate specialists and premier vendors. The work will be conducted in an efficient manner to control the indemnity spend and expenses without compromising the delivery of outstanding customer service.Aviva recognizes the importance of being flexible and the benefits of being together, this role will be hybrid – the best of both worlds.Come join our team!What you'll doResource field work to be completed by IA by setting clear expectations and timelines and managing the file through to completion.Arrange market calls or work with various insurers on subscription claims.Prepare and be able to present a complete file strategy, coverage analysis, disposition and business caseInvestigate claims by reviewing the IA reports and specialists in order to acquire facts and information to analyzing the loss.Review and compile facts, policies, technical reports, analyze estimates, value of claim, and settle claims.Communicate claim adjustments via written reports to all parties. This will be based on the policy wording and circumstances surrounding the loss to resolve the claim.Provide outstanding service to our customersResponsible for data accuracy and issuing payments to vendors, insureds, and specialists.Ensure all correspondence is completed in a timely and effective manner including the creation of Critical Path Letters, Proof of Losses, and Reservation of Rights letters etc.Responsible for recognizing questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities.What you'll bringMinimum of 15+ years of experience in commercial property claimsSolid experience managing large and complex commercial property losses in excess of $5,000,000 on a consistent basisDetailed knowledge of the property insurance industry and strong solid understanding of property insurance case lawStrong construction knowledgeStrong digital literacyDetailed knowledge of a variety of property coverage wordingsSome basic accounting skillsOutstanding communication and negotiation skillsExcellent report writing skillsWhat you'll getThe salary band for this position ranges from $100,700 to $150,700.
