This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.Your OpportunityOur Transportation group provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of roadway, transit, rail, and bridge projects. We are currently seeking co-op/interns for our multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can work in a team environment, are keen to learn and want to be involved in exciting local and regional projects.Your Key Responsibilities:With guidance, perform geometric design and 3D modelingSupport development of design plans and assist with preparation of technical specifications and quantity estimates as requiredAssist with the preparation of engineering reports and technical studies, including basic calculationsCoordinate with other disciplines including structural, geotechnical, stormwater and streetlighting to ensure interdisciplinary design integrationAdditional duties may include assisting with project coordination, field work and proposal preparationYour Capabilities and Credentials:Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team environmentBasic understanding of general civil design concepts in relevant areasBasic understanding of software such as AutoCAD or Synchro would be considered an assetProficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Strong verbal and written communication skillsHigh emphasis on attention to detail and accuracyTeam player with a positive attitudeEducation and ExperienceCurrently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters Engineering program.Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
