Salary $115,000 – $130,000About the OpportunityOur client is a well-established manufacturer in the commercial HVAC and chiller space, known for delivering high-performance, energy-efficient cooling solutions across North America and globally. They are seeking a Sales Application Engineer to support technical sales efforts across the South Central U.S. region.This is a customer-facing, pre-sales engineering role that bridges sales, engineering, and manufacturing. The successful candidate will help translate complex project requirements into practical, competitive equipment solutions for consultants, contractors, owners, and sales partners.This position is well suited to someone with a strong background in commercial HVAC, chilled water systems, and chiller applications, combined with the ability to support sales through technical credibility, equipment selection, and solution development.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with the regional sales team and representative network to understand customer requirements, project specifications, and system design needsDevelop equipment selections and application solutions aligned with performance, efficiency, and project requirementsPrepare technical proposals, equipment recommendations, and submittal support for commercial HVAC projectsReview specifications, bid documents, and schedules to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and compliantSupport technical discussions with consulting engineers, contractors, end users, and internal stakeholdersDeliver technical presentations, product training, and application guidance to customers and channel partnersEvaluate competitive equipment and help position solutions effectively based on performance, lifecycle value, and application fitCollaborate internally with engineering, manufacturing, service, and product teams to ensure proposed solutions align with operational capabilitiesProvide technical feedback to support product strategy, application resources, and market responsivenessParticipate in industry events, trade shows, and technical forums as neededQualifications3–7+ years of experience in one or more of the following:HVAC applications engineeringMechanical system designTechnical sales engineeringSupport of commercial or industrial HVAC equipmentStrong knowledge of:Chilled water systemsCommercial HVAC system designCentrifugal or large-tonnage chillersEnergy efficiency metrics such as IPLV, NPLV, and COPSystem optimization and lifecycle cost analysisExperience supporting technically complex commercial HVAC projectsStrong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience will also be consideredPreferred BackgroundDirect chiller experience is strongly preferredCandidates from commercial HVAC manufacturers, applied equipment businesses, or closely related technical sales / applications environments will be of greatest interestStrong adjacent HVAC candidates with solid mechanical aptitude may also be consideredWhat Success Looks LikeBecoming a trusted technical resource to the regional sales team and customersDelivering accurate, competitive, and technically sound proposalsHelping increase specification activity and project wins across the assigned territoryBuilding credibility with consultants, contractors, and channel partnersContributing to sales growth through strong application support and technical positioningAdditional InformationThis is a remote role supporting the Canadian marketRegional travel is expected at approximately 20–30%Applicants must already be authorized to work in Canada
