Project Manager - Remote Camps (Western Canada)

- Develop and execute comprehensive camp management plans, including:
- Site Healthy and Safety plans
- Environmental management plans
- Water, power, fuel, waste, and food system management
- Backup systems, contingency planning, emergency response
- Supply chain logistics for multimodal transportation (road, air, seasonal access)
- Oversee full project lifecycle including mobilization, operations, and demobilization
- Review daily reports from Camp Managers and site teams
- Proactively resolve operational issues (weather delays, equipment failures, supply disruptions)
- Maintain strong client relationships and manage escalations professionally
- Forecast and manage project budgets, costs, and variances
- Handle change orders, scope adjustments, and contract compliance
- Ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently
- Collaborate with internal teams including:
- Logistics & travel
- Health & safety
- Finance
- HR & recruitment
- Catering operations
- Support camp builds, expansions, and shutdowns
- Lead operations through complex challenges (weather, labor disruptions, access constraints)
- Improve processes, tools, and systems for scalability across multiple sites
- Promote a culture of adaptability, safety, and accountability
- 5+ years of experience in project management within remote camps, mining, oil & gas, or similar industries
- Strong understanding of camp infrastructure systems (water, power, fuel, waste, logistics)
- Proven experience managing multiple worksite sites or large-scale operations
- Strong financial acumen (budgeting, forecasting, P&L oversight)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Experience working directly with Camp Managers and field teams
- Technical knowledge (plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems)
- Experience operating in remote or extreme environments
- Ability to remain calm, diplomatic, and solutions-focused under pressure
