Steps away from the main public transit stationWhat we offer:Highly competitive compensation package which includes a base salary, bonus, benefits, and career advancement opportunities!*Eligibility for benefits is dependent on the terms of employmentThe OpportunityReporting to the Senior Manager of the Business Analysis Community of Practice, within the IT Department, the Assistant Manager, Business Analysis will play a key role in supporting the Business Analysis Community of Practice by leading a team of Business Analysts, ensuring the quality and clarity of business requirements and driving successful project delivery. The Assistant Manager will provide training, coaching and guidance to the Business Analysts, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and oversee the execution of business analysis activities throughout the software development lifecycle. The Assistant Manager will also be a lead on critical initiatives/projects, responsible for requirements deliverables.How you will contribute:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Business Analysts, fostering their growth and development.
  • Oversee the analysis and documentation of business requirements, functional specifications and user stories for initiatives/projects.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers, QA Analysts and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Coordinate and review the creation of comprehensive business analysis artifacts, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
  • Drives continuous improvement and ongoing strategy refinement of the IT Business Analysis Community of Practice across people, processes, guidelines, tools and supporting technologies
  • Conducts interviews for new hires as required as well as support the onboarding of new team members and manage workload distribution.
  • Help establish and improve analysis KPIs as well as performance and work standards
  • Conducts Performance Reviews
  • Proficient in Agile Delivery Frameworks and Business Analysis Playbooks, providing continuous coaching and mentoring to the team on estimation, development, and maintenance of requirement work items, traceability matrices, and other project deliverables.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager.

  • Experience in the mortgage and/or financial services industry is preferred.
Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Arts & Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Lead Business Analyst for software development projects, complemented by 1+ years of management or equivalent leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in the BA Discipline
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent required.
  • Certified PMP, CSM, CSPO, CDMP, and ITIL are assets.
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with programming languages, web technologies, and database systems.
  • Well versed in Agile methodologies, Scrum framework and software development lifecycle.
  • Advanced expertise with modeling tools like MS Visio.
  • Advanced expertise with analytical tools like MS SQL and MS Power BI.
  • Extensive experience in Business Process Modelling (BPM).
  • 4+ years’ experience working with First National systems and practices an asset (internal candidates only).
