On behalf of our client, a leading sporting goods company, we are looking for a Senior Accountant to handle the company's treasury operations and financial reporting, ensuring reliable financial information and effective cash flow management. This role oversees core treasury activities, supports accurate and timely reporting, and collaborates with key internal teams and external partners to strengthen financial controls and meet the organization's evolving needs. Expected Salary Range: $70,000 - 90,000 per yearResponsibilities:
  • Oversee daily treasury operations, including cash positioning, bank balances, and liquidity requirements
  • Prepare short and long-term cash flow forecasts and conduct variance analysis
  • Execute and monitor cash transfers, intercompany funding, and debt-related transactions
  • Maintain and support banking relationships, including account administration, signatories and compliance activities
  • Monitor debt-covenant compliance and support debt reporting, interest calculations, and related documentation
  • Enhance treasury policies and internal controls, and support ongoing process improvements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
  • Record and reconcile treasury-related transactions such as cash, debt, interest, FX, and investment activity
  • Develop and maintain balance sheet schedules and contribute to consolidation and reporting packages
  • Support external audit requirements by preparing documentation and addressing audit inquiries
  • Lead or support month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Perform financial and variance analyses related to cash flows, interest expense, and financing activities
  • Support with additional projects and reporting needs, as required
Requirements:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with completion of CPA designation
  • A solid understanding of ASPE and U.S./International accounting protocols is considered a strong asset
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a full-cycle accounting role, with inventory cost control/accounting being desirable
  • Experience in private lending or exposure to lending-related financial structures is preferred
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite; specifically financial modeling and reporting tools, with MXP experience as an asset
  • High competency demonstrated in written and verbal communication
  • Exceptional time management skills, detail and accuracy are essential
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and forecasting abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with the application of sound business judgment
