Combining relationship management, strategic negotiation, and operational insight, the position provides a dynamic blend of office-based responsibilities and regional travel-ideal for someone looking to grow within a purpose-driven organization.Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Account Manager, you will play a key role in sourcing, purchasing, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and profitable acquisition of quality scrap metal materials. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Procurement and Sourcing:
o Source and purchase ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal from a wide range of suppliers.
o Collaborate closely with internal teams to meet procurement goals and ensure quality standards.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
o Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with current suppliers.
o Identify and engage new suppliers through proactive outreach and networking.
  • Negotiation and Pricing:
o Negotiate competitive pricing agreements that support profitability and cost control.
o Monitor market trends to inform pricing strategies and supplier contracts.
  • Operational Coordination and Quality Assurance:
o Work with operations teams to ensure material consistency and compliance.
o Promote and reinforce safety practices with all suppliers and during site visits.
  • Strategic Contribution and Travel:
o Support the development of procurement strategies that drive business growth.
o Travel within the region for supplier meetings, site inspections, and industry events.QualificationsTo succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
  • Education & Experience:
o Previous experience in procurement, business development, or account management.
o Background in the recycling, manufacturing, or commodities sector is an asset.
  • Technical Skills:
o Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
o Strong understanding of procurement best practices and market dynamics.
  • Key Competencies:
o Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
