Heavy Duty Technician - Frame & Structural Repair

- Inspect truck frames, suspensions, and chassis for signs of damage, wear, or structural stress
- Utilize computerized frame alignment machines and laser measuring systems to diagnose frame damage
- Interpret collision reports and assess root causes of structural misalignmentMechanical & Structural Repair – 70% of your time is spent here- Perform hands-on repairs to engines, hydraulics, electrical, and drivetrain systems
- Operate hydraulic frame racks and pulling systems to straighten and realign heavy-duty truck frames
- Repair or replace damaged structural components such as frame rails, cross members, and mounting points
- Perform MIG, TIG, or stick welding to repair or reinforce steel and aluminum frames
- Remove and reinstall body panels, suspension systems, or driveline components for structural access
- Ensure all repairs meet DOT, OEM, and internal safety standards, with close attention to vehicle weight distribution and load-bearing integrity
- Fabricate or modify frame components and brackets when required, using cutting, grinding, and welding toolsDocumentation & Equipment – 10% of your time- Accurately document all findings, repair procedures, and parts used in service records
- Communicate repair plans and updates to service managers, customers, and insurance partners
- Maintain and calibrate frame racks, welding equipment, measuring systems, and shop tools to ensure consistent performance and safety
- Participate in in-house training programs for continuous development and technical certificationsEducation/Certification- Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate
- Structural welding certification (MIG, TIG, stick) is an asset
- CVIP license is an asset
- Class 1 or Class 3 driver's license is an assetExperience (The Following Are Considered Assets)- 5+ years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic working on commercial trucks
- Proven experience operating frame straightening equipment and performing structural repairs
- Strong understanding of OEM specifications, DOT compliance, and heavy vehicle structural standards
- Experience with frame fabrication or modification
