Collaborate with key members of the OHS Department, subject matter experts, and employees in operations.
Participate in HSE team meetings to understand the OHS Department's operations at CRH and identify opportunities for skill development.
Support site supervision in implementing and managing the health and safety management system.
Work closely with the OHS Department on developing site-specific safe work practices, procedures, and hazard assessments.
Conduct regularly scheduled health and safety inspections of the workplace and document/post these inspections in visible locations on the job site.
Follow up on all corrective actions noted during ongoing workplace inspections.
Maintain statistics and records, and monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a university or college in one of the following or relevant programs: Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Certificate in Environmental Management, or a degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
Valid G-Drivers License
Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel and SharePoint (e.g., pivot tables, macros).
Regular, reliable attendance.
Ability to work productively and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, both individually and in a team environment.
Ability to perform work safely and effectively, and understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
