The instructor will guide students towards developing techniques to become an effective band leader; learning how the various sections of a band function (especially the Rhythm section); becoming familiar with standard jazz-related materials; and learning practical skills such as how to set up audio gear for live performances.Classes: 2025 Fall Term T/Th 2:30 PM - 3:45 PM (3 credit hours)Qualifications: The ideal applicant will hold a minimum of a master's degree in music, with significant experience as an instrumental conductor and director of jazz and popular music ensembles at the junior or senior high school and/or university level.Qualifications:Unless specified otherwise above, applicants must hold a minimum of a master's degree in music with substantial experience related to the respective course content.
