Reporting to the Team Lead of High Voltage Laboratory services, you will support day‑to‑day High Voltage Lab operations and gradually take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows.Key responsibilities include:
- Support high‑voltage testing activities, including test setup, execution, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with test planning, proposal development, and cost estimates, working with applicable IEEE, IEC, CSA, and ANSI standards.
- Work on multiple projects at the same time, coordinating with technicians, engineers, and clients to meet schedules and milestones.
- Participate in hands‑on testing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues during test execution.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to problem‑solving, analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Support failure analysis investigations under supervision of senior engineers and contribute to accurate test results and reporting.
- Help maintain and improve lab equipment, processes, and safety practices.
- Communicate clearly with internal teams, clients, and suppliers, asking questions early and escalating issues when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Eligible for registration (or currently registered) as an Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC
- Strong interest in hands‑on engineering work and learning through experience
- Good attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through
- Comfortable multitasking and working in a dynamic environment
- Clear communicator who works well in a team and is willing to ask for help
- Exposure to electrical testing, power systems, or lab environments
- Familiarity with transmission or distribution equipment
- Experience from co‑ops, labs, capstone projects, or field work
- Strong commitment to safety in laboratory and field environments
- Willingness to learn and follow procedures while developing independent judgment
- Ability to write clear technical notes and contribute to test reports
- Collaborative mindset and positive team attitude
- Interest in growing technical depth and responsibility over time
Job Status: Full-Time Regular
Job Grade : P1
