Our Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, forestry and mining equipment throughout the region in a field environment. Job Description:Major Job FunctionsTrouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs (possibility of remote locations)Interface with customers, products and sales supportWorking with the Supervisor on various tasksProviding support with reference to on-site safety requirementsMaintain Finning Customer Service CommitmentVarious related duties as required**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**Specific Skills & ExperienceInterprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment CertificationClean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr)Dedication to safetyStrong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems are considered assetsStrong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbalUnderstanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an assetEngine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an assetTransmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an assetPrevious gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an assetNote:This is a position based out of our Prince George, BC branch on a Monday to Friday (5x2) rotationA condition of employment may be the ability to obtain Customer Site Access (may include Drug & Alcohol, and Fitness testing)Some of Finning’s customers are situated in remote locationsMust live in the Prince George area or be willing to relocateAbility to wear a respiratorAny future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
