Join our growing team where everyone belongs!Position DetailsReporting to the Manager, Claims, the Senior Technical Specialist Bodily Injury and Commercial General Liability is responsible for oversight and handling of complex long haul trucking, towing, commercial general liability and commercial automobile claims. The claims are moderate to severe in nature and the successful candidate will have a dynamic personality and the ability to excel in a high performance environment. The Senior Technical Specialist Bodily Injury and CGL ensures claims are properly investigated, evaluated, and resolved in a timely manner.What You Will Do
Provide oversight of external adjusters on outsourced claims
Investigate, evaluate, negotiate commercial lines casualty claims of moderate to high complexity
Manage challenging coverage claims with tact and professionalism
Conduct technical audits to monitor quality, activity, reserving and expenses
Direct vendor partners as necessary
Provide high quality customer experience to all stakeholders
Collaborate effectively with peers/other departments
Present Large Losses to a Committee
Remain up-to-date on industry trends and case law
Manage claims in litigation, participate in mediations, pre-trials and settlement conferences
Occasional travel is required

Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
CIP or working towards designation
Minimum of 7 years experience handling casualty/CGL claims required
Strong organizational; decision making and problem solving skillset
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Adaptability and willingness to learn
Ability to understand insurance contracts in various jurisdictions
Knowledge of principles and practices of claims settlement, policy wording, fraud investigations and coverage issues
