The Assistant Project Manager (APM) provides operational and administrative support to the Project Manager to ensure that construction projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The APM plays a key role in procurement, project execution, monitoring, reporting, and project close-out.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Project Manager in the overall planning and scheduling of the project, including progress monitoring and reporting.Support all project operations, ensuring compliance with local legislative, labour, and regulatory requirements.Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed throughout all phases of project execution.Manage and coordinate project activities within approved budgets.Assist in preparing project cost status reports, including percent complete, cost-to-date, and cost forecasts.Identify project issues and alert management of potential risks; develop mitigation plans to minimize impacts.Monitor overall project progress and recommend corrective actions when necessary.Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and managing scope and contract changes.Ensure all scope changes and contract modifications are submitted and approved by the client.Implement and monitor the company’s Health & Safety Program on site.Implement and monitor the company’s Quality Assurance Program and related requirements.Participate in manpower planning, equipment coordination, and material procurement.Assist in managing subcontractor performance, contracts, and work execution.Prepare progress billings and assist in collecting outstanding payments.Conduct site safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.Requirements5 to 7 years of experience in the construction industry (building sector).University degree or College Diploma in Construction, Engineering, or a related field.Strong experience in procurement, project execution, and project close-out.Solid understanding of construction processes, contract administration, and project financials.Desired ProfileStrong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Demonstrated leadership and conflict-resolution capabilities.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project conditions.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Benefits
