
People Wellness Coordinator

- Report to the Manager, Healthy Workplace, the People Wellness Coordinator (PWC) and be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating wellness programs across Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to meet the identified needs of employees and the organization.
- Promote the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) to ensure employee awareness and access to services, and act as a key point of contact for resolving any EFAP concerns.
- Coordinate with other programs and leadership across the organization, as well as key partners and community partners, to innovate and develop new wellness programs and evaluate service performance and measure outcomes.
- Ensure provision of Respectful Workplace support services to meet employees’ needs for a psychologically safe and healthy workplace.
- Manage vendor/service contracts on behalf of the department, including the development and/or implementation of programs, and ensuring alignment with organizational needs and values.
- Liaise with vendors on any service level issues and monitors key performance indicators for review by the Manager. Primary contacts are with Directors, Managers, HR Advisors, external services providers, and employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related field, supplemented by three (3) years’ recent related EFAP and/or wellness delivery experience in health care or a large complex multi-site organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Effectively utilizes both verbal and written communication skills when providing advice or information or seeking and acquiring information.
- Highly developed business writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work appropriately.

- Understands and respects sensitive and confidential nature of workplace and maintains appropriate approach.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize active listening and emotional regulation skills in sensitive contact with employees.
- Practices diligence and care when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and budget information.
- Effectively and accurately responds to the needs of stakeholders and is acutely aware of the impact of decisions and actions on the organization and various stakeholders.
- Optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success by applying excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and initiative, deal with frequent and unexpected changes; make decisions for a wide variety of complex business matters.
- Proficient computer skills with a demonstrated ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software to create a variety of documents, reports and presentations, and to maintain databases.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
