Park Paving Ltd. has been locally owned and operated for 50 years as one of the largest road construction contractors in Edmonton, and we are looking for three EXPERIENCED TOPMAN / TOPWOMAN to join our CIVIL UNDERGROUND DIVISION.This position is a full -time seasonal role and offers competitive wage with benefits.The primary responsibilities, duties, and expectations of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Strong working-knowledge of pipe lasers, transits. An understanding of proper bedding placement and pipe securement
  • Ability to evaluate and adjust work plan based on ground conditions
  • Ability to understands grades, general survey, and drawings
  • Understand and implements proper rigging techniques onsite
  • Have full understanding and compliance with City specification for the tasks you are completing
  • Perform hole coring on structures.
  • Set up core elevations on structures based on field measurements. In addition set up track lines, center lines, and hubs
  • Monitoring of ground conditions and safely guide operators around utilities
  • Assist in work planning which includes forecasting work tasks and prepping materials in advance
  • Assist with crew supervision as directed
  • Willingness to assist in various labour activities required such as setting up chains for rigging, operating small equipment, and installing precast structures
  • Assist in equipment pre/post trip inspections and general maintenance
Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's license
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to work around live sanitary and storm sewers as needed
  • Able to work Monday -Friday and when necessary overtime & weekends
  • Valid Ground Disturbance 201 Standard training (Alberta) is an asset
  • Valid Confined Space Monitor/Entry training is an asset
